Default Quick update

Pulled the cam cover and the tensioners are worn, probably close to an 1/8in groove on both inner and outer.

Got the cam in the mail and there are no markings on it. I'll take some pics later and post. I don't know how to positively id the part... The seller has a (1684) rating with 100% positive feedback, so I want to say it's safe to assume....

The dealer said the ignition has a stage 1 map downloaded to it, would that mean it's been upgraded or can that be done to a stock module?

I have so many questions! Lol!

Hoping to get by with the jetting it has, there are a few places in town here with dynos so, I'll definitely be hitting them up either way.

If the cam is an SE204, that will be stamped on the face of the outer bearing journal, easy to see. The Stage I flash adds a bit of fuel across the rpm range and raises the rev limiter to 5800 IIRC. You referred to "jetting" which does not apply and I think you are referring to the current state of tune. The Stage I flash is probably all the "tuning" that has been done, so getting the bike on a dyno for a proper tune is a good idea.

Being an 03 model it may still be a carb bike, it was an option for that year.

Actually, carbed models were available until '06. If it was a carbed model, no Stage I flash. Maybe the OP can clear that up for us because Stage I flash and jetting are mutually exclusive.

i was thinking a dyatec with downloadable ign maps, but I figure your right and it just has adjustable pots like the typical ignition system.

it is a carbed model. I was giving the sales monkey the benefit of the doubt by saying the ignition might have been flashed.

No indentifying marks on the end

Or this end, if anything it looks a bit chewed up, does not look like NEW Old Stock at all :/

There are some marks cast in "46"

"AL"

Then on the other "AG"

And "49" might just be generic markings for the blanks..?

Wtf did this guy send me!?!

That's what I suspect. I started a return through ebay, won't cost me to ship them back since they didn't match description.

I messaged the seller and asked why it didn't have the stampings on it, their reply:

"I apologize for any inconvenience. We had a few new employees start here recently and they've
mixed up a few orders. I have a feeling thats what happened with you. There were several Cam
orders at one time. Once I get it back i will find out what happened."

Yeah right. That's why the cams in the dungy old box that they sent were the same as the ones pictured in the ad

https://www.ebay.com/itm/143490788552

I ordered some new ones from somewhere else.

Those appear to be stock cams.
