I'm pretty sure that can all be rectified with a good tune....
Confident that has been done by 10s of thousands of owners.
Stock spec included[/QUOTE]
I don't need thousands I have put 123k on a 2000 road king I need one or two with a 107 or 114 to say they have put over 50k on m8 motor. Thanks
Not 50K but running up on 40K on a 17 RK stage 2 tq cam.. No problems with heat but I don't sit in traffic. Oil temps run about 230-240 during summer. It was in the 50s yesterday and oil temps were only 180 to 200. All using an oil temp dipstick. Excellent bike. Not as good handling as my old 02 RKC (sold at 71K) but do get better gas mileage.
i ASSUMED the newer chassis would be better
is it the added weight?
It's more than likely the combination of the fatter tire in the rear, added trail, and the weight. It definitely make the bike feel heavier. Some think the newer frames are stronger. I doubt it. The thing to remember with less trail is that if anything is loose you'll get the dreaded wobble. Newer bikes are less susceptible but will also wobble under certain conditions.

Yes 230-240 up to 280-90 w/good oil is ok for me. I don't understand people that let air cooled engines sit and idle for long periods of time. I will shut mine down and wait or go another route. thank you for your time
