Default Andrews 21 with 10.25:1 - too much compression?

Current setup on my 2006 Dyna:

95" Big bore with 10.25:1 SE cast pistons
0045" head gasket
Andrews 37s with +4° sprocket
Python 2-1 with very modded baffle
Thundermax with autotune

Bike runs great, but does not do what I want. The motor rips and popping the wheel powershifting is not a problem, but the power comes on later than I want.

I have the 30T sprocket and that helped some, but still not what I want.

I am basically using my bike to haul my wife (and now our dog) and I want low end power. My bike feels high strung and is a blast to rip around on, but when we ride 2 up it is hard to keep it smooth...does that make sense?

Can I run the Andrews 21 cam or does my setup have too much compression for that cam to work well?

I just did a 95", .030 head gasket with 9.45:1 and Andrews 26s for my brother and it is a really nice motor...more what I want out of mine. 55mph roll-on and bikes were pretty even for a couple seconds then I started to pull from him.

This got me thinking that 21s would be more for what I want to do.

Any thoughts?

Waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much squeeze for that little 21.
9.4-9.5 tops.
A Wood 6 is almost spot-on for that compression at 10.25.

The reson for looking at the the 21s was how they provide power from idle on up. Do the woods 6s come on early like that?

Do they do well with stock valve springs and pushrods also?

.510" lift to fit under the OE spring, but as with most any cam, an adj. pushrod to 1) ease the install, and 2) load the lifter to .140-.150".

I have adjustables here, but when I was trying to track down a noise, I removed them and installed a set of stock pushrods.

I could put the adjustables back in but wondering if totally necessary. I guess it wouldn't be a bad thing to be able to load the lifters. I just read the horror stories about the nuts loosening up.

Was trying to hunt down what I thought was excessive valvetrain noise with the 37s...didn't seem any more or less with either pushrod type.

Would it help noise to put stiffer springs in it...if possible to do without removing heads?

Thanks again Scott for the help...always glad to read any advice given!

We can make that mild liitle cam go as silent as a church mouse here.
We use a Zippers oil pressure shim, load the lifter to .140", and the proper oil for the ambient temps, listed in the factory service manual.

I currently don't have compression releases and have not had too much off a problem starting with the .045 head gaskets.

Would I benefit much from going thinner on the head gasket...would get releases if pulling heads off to change gaskets.

Does that shim work for the 2006 Dyna? Lists from 99-06, but wasn't sure if that included the Dyna...
