Default 1998 Flhrci Stator output?

I have a 1998 flhrci and am working on a amp and speaker project. So I am thinking I mite want to up grade my stator output. I tried a search for the spects but was not able to find out what the output is on stock engine. Not sure If I even need to worry about this but thought I would ask.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your replies.

38 amp. Should handle an amp as long as it's not rediculously big.

Thanks for the reply. So I need to add up the draw on every thing like lights and such to see what the total draw is and as long as I stay under 38 amp I should be good to go correct?

I was sick the day they taught all the nuances of MC electric stuff. One of our experts will be along directly.

More or less that is the sum of it. Ask Dr Hess about his sporty. .. a stocker from the eighties came with a charging system that would stall if you braked too long with the high beams on. Lol

Don't forget that your battery also puts out a few hundred amps for short periods of time. If you have an efficient amp only the loud bass hits will draw a lot of amps.

The " stator " has one job and that is to keep the battery charged.
The elec. system runs off the battery .
Police bikes have a slightly higher output stator because of all the extra equipment like the radio , lights etc. running off the battery.
You should be fine with your original stator if your battery is high quality and high capacity.
Bike speakers are usually not very big so a 50 to 100 watt output amp. will do nicely. An amp this size is usually fused at approx. 10 amps. input current so your charging system probably wont even notice it.
What amp. and speaker combination are you interested in ?
