Default Stator plug oil leak, easy fix?

1990 low rider. Changed all fluids today. Primary was low. Prior to this, I noticed the plug always looked a little damp, but nothing too crazy. Rode it the 2 miles home, and as soon as put it on the stand and took my helmet off, I noticed a few drips from the front of the bike, coming from the stator plug.
is this is as simple as some silicone around the plug? Or is this gonna be a paint to repair?

Uncle G’s stator plug fix

Last fall, while doing some waterproofing on something else, I bought some "flowable" silicone windshield and glass sealer (Permatex) at the auto parts store. I had some left in a syringe, so I figured it couldn't hurt. I cleaned the area around the stator plug, soaked it with electrical contact cleaner to degrease the plug and case as well as I could, dried it, then laid a small bead of the flowable sealer around the junction of the plug and case. In a minute or so, capillary action drew the sealer into the joint and it disappeared. I let it cure overnight, then put the bike back into service. I really didn't expect it to work since nothing else had, but it's been dry for almost 9 months now.

Tex beat me too it, but that trick is still working for me four years later. I'd try this first, as it's the easiest, and least invasive.

"Permatex flowable silicone windshield and glass sealant." Part number 81730. Available at most auto parts stores.

The fix is, like most things in this world, temporary. I just had to redo mine after several years. But that's longer than I've ever been able to keep the plug oil tight by any other method. I've had three different HD stators in this bike. All were replaced due to leaking. Each one had a different plug design, and each leaked sooner and worse than the one before.

In my opinion, the Evo stator plug is a poor design. An oval rubber plug with two contacts in an oval hole is almost guaranteed to leak. The rubber plug will always shrink into a "dog bone" shape in time, allowing a leak.
