I'd shove rags in my tank fillers before I paid that much for gas caps. Let me reiterate. Hell no.

Like I said, they are a bitch to find, but I will buy you a brewski cause your my bud.

Question on these cables with cir clips. Do you put the clips on first and shove them up into the holes or do like I did and push the cables up into then spend a half hour cussing with curved needle nose pliers to put the clip back on. That's a half hour for each side.

Hey I found them thus I win the bet!!!
It's not my fault they cost more than any reasonable (sane) person would pay!!!!

FYI I called J&P today and they told me that if you leave your e-mail on a product that is out of stock it lets the manufacture know to make more.
I left mine just to see what happens.

I did the email thing with them back in October. You would think, that with all the bikes out there going to the dark side and you cannot powder coat caps due to rubber that their would be more choices out there.

Someone with more brains then me can set up a sweet little shop making those for some good coin.

since I haven't visited the powder coater yet, I wonder if its possible to buy a quality chrome set, take them apart and boom, instant blacked out caps.

Powder coating isn't necessary according to a friend of mine.
There is a paint (granted it ain't cheap) that is used on guns and is supposed to be scratch resistant.
It's also supposed to be stronger than powder coat.

Cerakote and Duracoat.......they are thin film finishes with high heat and wear resistance. Cerakote is a slightly more durable, not that it would be noticeable for this application.

Find a gunsmith who does either of these finishes and have him put your parts in with his next run for the best price. They developed a spray can but it will cost you more to do that yourself.

I have a Supertrapp stainless exhaust for my FXR that needs blackened, I'll be using Cerakote.
