Well that's a good question since the front ferring was added to the bike. Its read 57k on it. I was debating about changing then out anyways just to be safe. I have the b-138 on order since I'm going to be there might as well replace it.

Going with johnson hylift lifters. Now I need to do a little more research and see if I should do the standard or slow leak down. I cant believe how reasonable these are from what I find not a lot of issues. Actually found out that 98-02 they were the factory stock lifters for harley. That makes it even easier to go with them.

As you mentioned, the advance curves on the Ultima are more aggressive. Pull up the install manuals for both ignitions and compare the curves. The ultima ignition was fine for my bike in stock config, but after my cam and engine work I had ping. I had to reprogram it to a modified dynatek ignition curve #3.

You can either reprogram the ultima one curve at a time, or get the dynatek 2000 ignition with the better curves. Go for the dynatek ignition, you will have 4 preloaded curves to choose from by flicking a switch. Yes you can reprogram the dyna the same as the ultima with standard or custom curves, but it will be one curve at a time and will only store one curve. So again get the dynatek,

You can't go wrong with the Johnson hylifts. Good lifter, good value. YD

2000 seems like a lot more user friendly to me. You wouldnt happen to know the difference between the slow leak down and the standard? I plan on running a ev13 cam. Or should I email them.and ask for their recommendations?

So no work on Cocotte. My bars should hopefully be here Monday. Since motorcycle parts are not essential in fedex eyes it's going to be close to 2 weeks since I ordered them to when I recieved them. The shipping label was made right away and then fedex must only go there once a week. Pretty frustrating. On a better note the 09-13 exhaust should be here thursday so I can play with it and see what modifications need to be made with the underneath crossover. On the plus side my storage shed/spear house is almost done so I can store all my bike parts in there to make a little more room in my garage. Which would be a good deal because it's pretty crowded in the garage lol.

Well good news. Bars finally should up. Perfect so I go and take off the outer batwing, take the radio out, remove the controls from the bars and finally remove the bars. So I took the foam off the mounting area and left on the plastic bag covering in. I was all excited up until now, heres the bad news. The bars do not fit. So there was pretty much 2 weeks down the drain. Now what makes this even worse is I first ordered them off amazon then I realized they were not bagger bars so I called demon cycle and cancelled. Told him I'd call back on my lunch break and order the right bars directly from them. So I call them on my lunch break and talk to salesmen. Tell him I need bagger bars for my 87 flhs and he told me that the bars I first ordered would of worked. I said no I have a front ferring and need bagger bars. He told me the newer ons have a different bend in them but these bars would fit my bike. Frustrating. So now I need to get ahold of them tomorrow and see what kind of a deal they are going to work out with me for bagger bars since the salesman told me they would fit my bike. I'll make a post about the customer service afterwards.

Disappointing for sure! I suspect you need to order bars for an FLHT. FLHT bars will be correct to work with a fairing. can you post a pic of the guage side of your inner fairing? It will help us tell what years it is from.

snapped a picture quick of the inner. Hopefully that helps. I wish the guy would of listened to me when I said I needed bagger bars but oh well. I called them today and asked if the would split the difference between the 2 bars so I'd give them 20 more and the would give me 20 off. Hopefully they call back tomorrow because he said he had to talk to the boss.

another good note is my exhaust should up today so it will get pick up from the post office tomorrow. Bad news is I need to finish the storage shack before I can do much more. I got to make some room in the garage. So now I can see what that will take to fit and then finally pull the motor and start digging into that to see what I'll all need and have to do.
