Well if my head pipes ever show up, I'll be sending the jugs and heads to hillside cycle to get the base of the jugs trued, cylinders bored and 10:1 wiseco pistons installed. Now the hard part is I know I will be going over my budget but I'll be getting a stage 1 head job done. I was planning on doing that over this up coming winter but in money sense it makes sense to do it now. Otherwise I would pay for a valve job, which is like 275 for getting the valve seats done guides and seals. Then taking the heads back off this winter shipping them out there paying the 750 for thr stage 1 and then shipping back. So its saving time and money in the long run. Hopefully cocotte will keep up with the 103s. They recommend wood cams but from what I can find on them is they have super aggressive ramps and are extremely prone to chatter. Hoping to be close to that 90hp/90 torque.

Little update. I worked in the tour pack speakers. They add a little more volume but not that much. Still waiting on the head pipes and my service manual that I ordered 2 weeks ago from HD. It would be nice to get this stuff lol. The new bagger bars showed up today, so that was half the shipping time and helps get me moving forward a little. Thinking I should just put a newer radio in and get different controls when though I like having the volume on the bar. We will see what happens there.

18" might of been too short lol

they sit a little above my shoulders but with my long arms they should of been higher. We will see what happens after a season of riding.

Great news the vance and hines dresser dual head pipes finally showed up today. These are for 09-13 dressers. Only took 8 days longer then the slip onto get, even though they were shipped from the same post office at the same time lol. So I finished removing the old rear y pipe. Took off the muffler snap rings so i could use them to test out the new pipes. So I installed the head pipes and the fit. Just need to make a few minor adjustments because the brake pedal lever barely hits the the heat shield. I will need to fab a new mount for the support bracket and only have 1 bolt holding the lower pipe because it will fit the frame. The underneath crossover pipe clears everything nicely. I will be able to still access the oil filter. Where its pressed down fornthe belt is about a belt width off. But it should clear with ease since it's got room with no load it should move away from it once there is weight on the bike. There might be a small angle on the slip ons once I get the clamps installed on but if needed I can adjust for that.

Get ya some floor board extenders from DK Custom. Move the boards out almost 1". That should take care of the pipe problem and also keep your boot leather from becoming crunchy. LOL

Nice build by the way. Looking forward to the finished product.

Well I removed the front cylinder today, even though I was just planning on sneaking out and pulling the valve cover. Remember back when I said I was scared to see what I found when I opened it up? Well my fear was correct, but I got lucky. So I removed the valve cover and was looking at the head. I notice a shiny random object in both oil journals. Brake side had a bolt and the clutch side had a washer. So I ended up taking the cylinder off. There is slight wear on the head from the bolt, but that's the only damage I see. Thank God, I was about to come unglued. So tomorrow I'll remove the rear jug and hopefully no surprise. I was trying to wait on doing the tear down until I got my service manual, which was ordered april 20th. I have hit a lot of timely delays between waiting on my head pipes that were lost in the great usps system and now I'm still waiting on my service manual.
