Reading your post just reminded me of something I found out. I was running an S&S 110 with the "G" carb then I changed it over to the 51mm CV carb which improved things but still had similar problems as you described. At this point I put in the 127 which I had problems with so in order to keep riding I put the 110 back in (nice to have a spare engine). In the mean time I had gotten some of the S&S Intake seals as I had been using the Harley ones, the S&S are slightly thinner and a lot harder. I also installed the Ultima ignition from the 127. All I can say is what an improvement, it's much smoother starts and idles better and no flat spot at mid RPM cruising like before. I suspect I was fighting a vacuum leak as the intake seals I took out were always damaged. The Ultima ignition also worked wonders with the idle and starting as it runs a lot less advance. If the 110 had run like this before I would probably have never bought the 127.
That is interesting stuff! My S&S has the IST ignition system, so I am not sure it is easy to change that. I had the engine supplied and installed by a leading UK S&S specialist and he has checked it over twice now. I am confident he has the expertise to sort it if anything needs doing. I don't!
The only other V107T owner I know has the stock ignition system and doesn't have the vibration patch I have. What is frustrating is that there are occasions when mine doesn't do it and I wonder if it is cured! One day....
Can't see the new camera in your shots, but the bike looks great.
Are you hiding its real displacement - and could you call by and clean mine like that?!
I also had the IST ignition which I think is crap, what a waste of money. I am now running the Ultima ignition that came with the 127 and it works great.

I am warming to the idea of making a swap like that. Must go and see if that ignition is available without a 127! I have just realised your 110 is a 40th Anniversary - my 107 is a 50th!
My 107 has automatic compression releases, as well as various engine sensors, like knock etc. When fitting the Ultima module how did you deal with those sort of things?

Have you done any dyno runs before and after fitting the Ultima ignition? The improvements you describe are very attractive! I think I have to weigh up the benefits of keeping sweet with the 3 year warranty I got with this engine - or improving the way it rides!
Unfortunately cash is tight at present, but I can still sort out what improvements to make when funds are available.
paco going to buy a 107 or 113 for my 1997 heritage softail to replace my old 80" evo. i do a lot of 4 and 5 hr trips with 2 up. just want a little more power on the hills here in wise va. advice would be greatley appreated from u or any one else.
Hello all fellow ultima and bagger riders. I have had one hell of a hectic and crazy summer between moving, military, and new job. That left little time for riding. When I picked my bike up from the guys that installed the motor, the electric was not working. The volts were down at 11. Tried replacing the reg as this was the cheapest and easiest fix. Nothing. It is a new battery so I knew it wasn't that. I didn't want to admit it could be the stator. Well, a bud got me the compu-fire 40 amp set up at cost and I tore the bike apart to put that in. The bike was a little noisy before, but I wrote that off to the lifters like all say. When I took the primary cover off, I was in for a surprise. The primary chain was chewing into the inner primary. The f'n moron didn't put the spacers in the bike after the rotor, thus the chain was digging into the primary and metal chunks were getting into the everything. What a mess! Many $ and hours later, I have it back together. I am now putting out 14 volts and the bike is much quieter. Still louder than and Evo, but hey, it is bigger than an Evo. My next problem is getting the cruise working on this thing. I have an email out to Mia for any advice on this one. With any luck, I will get the 500 miles in on this engine to get it in for a dyno jetting before it gets to cold up here in WI. Hope all has had a safe riding season thus far. Safe riding for all, and make some noise at your local tea parties whenever you get a chance. Let's take our country back!
Hello Guys,
I just got in my 2500 miles on the 107. Still noisy but running without any probs like hell.
So far i do not pay any attantion to it any more. Change my Oil every 1000 miles. and ride.
Will get it to the dyno next time to get right jetting but thats it
My carb was NOT professionally tuned (yet) and running QUIET 1.75 Fullsac baffles in a pair of CVO touring mufflers with our 113 Ultima. and it came in at 103.96 hp / 114.05 tq and the torque is 100 lbs + from 2900 to the rev limiter set at 5500
That`s pretty healthy.I just registered on this site.I see Ultima engines talked about all over the place and never heard of them before. Are these twin cam designs or do they build Evos, too?
