Ok guys, now that uall have run 107-113-120-127 ultimas, which one would you suggest for my 90flhtcu. I have a built 80 in her now but the left case is cracked.instead of replacing the cases im going with a new ultima motor.I was going with the 120 because of the different stroke than the 127 and from what i had read thru ur pages the 127 is an animal.I do all 2up riding and me and the olelady weigh in about 420pounds total. Is my selection the best for me ,or should I go to the 127.

I have the 127 and my buddy has the 120 If I was going to do it again I would get the 120 as it has plenty of power but with the shorter stroke will live a lot longer.

I finally got around to putting in the S&S 640 cam and S&S lifters. So far it seems a lot better but just took a sort ride on it today I will know more once I get a few miles on it.

The 120 is a "square" engine, and square engines always seem to perform better all-around. We've installed them in customes bike and all are satisfied. We also have one in our shop bagger and love it. It pulls good down low and is smooth all through the normal RPM's. Hope this helps, send me a message for more info.

Convinced me, the 120" it is.
Hope the pics come thru. I included some pics of my favorite bike 83FXR SHOVELHEAD and a pic of my shop.

Default 120 or 127

You said your buddy has a 120. What is the difference in the rideability between your 127 and the 120? Thanks for your input.

The 120 vibrates less, the performance is about the same as he is running a lot lighter bike. But I suspect his will last a lot longer

I am really impressed with this new cam and lifters even though the lift has increased from 640 to 650 and more duration, the bottom end feels stronger and smoother through the full rpm band, it used to die out at 5000-5200 but now it just keeps pulling. The valve train is much quieter and once I get the new pinion gear it will be better yet since the cam gear/Pinion mesh was a bit loose. Just as a note Ultima is using the 89 style pinion gear so when checking this make sure you use the .105 checking pins not the .108 to get the right sizing.

Ordered a 120 this morning. Going to put it on my 85 FLHTC to replace the original 80" evo with a cracked rs case. already a have Barnet clutch with SE spring. Six speed Rev Tech I put in the stock hsg a couple of years back.
Ordered a one piece brg for primary. already has single fire Dayna Ign. Had to do that some years ago because of high compression. still have stock starter. Don't know how that will work out.

Anything anyone can think of will be welcome. Engine will be here Friday. Will put it in this weekend.

Thanks for your input.
