Default question about breather

can anyone tell me if this is a aftermarket breather kit and if so who makes it?

wasnt sure if you could clean it like a k&n one or not and tried to get it off. thought it may screw off but it ended up just pulling off. noticed what looks like a form of silicone gasket or possibly a glue on the back of the filter were it popped off so i guess its not mean to be took off and cleaned.
any ideas?

attached a photo of the breather on the bike

That's a bad one on the bike one day gone the next Looks good while it's there Get a K&N filter 3/8 hose male fitting doesn't look as good but it will stay in place You can use the existing bracket If you need a part # let us know

i thought the same thing about it coming off so i put some blue silicone on the back of the filter and put it back on.

when i popped the filter off, the part of the braket were the filter was is solid except for a small hole were the hose is connected on the other side.
so i would probably have to use another bracket.
thats what i couldnt figure out. seems the filter and bracket both would have to be replaced unless the manufacturer intended for the filter to be put back on with silicone.

never have saw a breather setup like this one so it stumped me. should have snapped some pics when i had the filter off. may have to do that anyhow so it better shows what im referring too.

Take that bracket off use a small die grinder or hack saw cut off that existing hose fitting so when your done we have just a hole big enough to take that new K&N breather filter with the 3/8 in hose fitting Push the fitting through the hole attach the 3/8 in hose at the back (with hose clamp ) and bingo you're on the road again ! J&P Cycles shows a K&N p/n 402-041 or Uni filter CCI P/N 11967
