OK, I know what that is, and yes, they do look like a weak link. Not a bad idea to have one "in the kit"

Yeah, Rufus, #372 in your pic. Also, I busted 2 aftermarket ones, if I recall. I suggest OEM on that, as that's what has held up for me and that's what I carry in my tour pack. It's small. And since I put my clutch back together with the correct tensioning, exactly as per the book, I haven't had a problem. I suspect that an indy I had work on it once put the clutch back together too tight.

For those of you looking for a clutch I just bought one for my 88 from J&P, I got their Milwaukee Twins brand. When it came it was a Energy one one clutch. the Price was only 67.99.

Well, I "lubed" up the clutch cable last night, (using a plastic bag taped to the lever end, and slowing forcing 90wt oil thru it)
Silky smooth this morning, i must admot that I feel like a dufus for not thinking of that earlier.....
Anyhow, the next thing to do is save my pennies for the new clutch kit.

I appreciate all the input

When I replaced my clutch plates my index plate had some wear. I replaced it and HD changed it. Instead of A B C. Its flat and they give you shims to set the concave. The factory manual has a diagram explaing the adjusment.
