Well, I did mine with a hydraulic press at work. Easier to install, as you can warm up in an oven to 180 degrees or so and it'll slip on and be tight once cooled. You do need to ensure it's indexed properly for timing. At this point, if I were you, I'd wait to find out if your indys' work helps at all before you decide.

No charge for the readjust but if the lifters have to be replaced again I will have to pay for it. May do it myself. I am just pretty sure it is going to be the cam gear and I dont' have the stock gear to swap out how hard is it to replace the pinion gear?
What brand of lifters were installed? I can't believe some of these guys that are already setting you up for extra charges. If the lifter or lifters are defective are they still under warranty? If so, then I would replace them an N/C if within the warranty period. I do not however warranty parts bought on eBay deals, only ones purchased through us. Keep that in mind if that would be the case here.

They were ultima lifters. I didn't buy them from him and I dont' guess it is his fault they failed if that is the case how do know if it is lifters or the gear. Just replace the lifters and see what happens?

Gears whine or clatter, they don't click. (unless you have broken a tooth. Not very likely.)

Ultima will replace a defective lifter at N/C depending on where you bought them and if you have proof of purchase. They will not however pay for the labor to replace the lifter. Never heard of a V-Thunder or S&S lifter failure, so you might want to consider that next time.
