Just bought me a FXR3, and still need to get the parts and service manuals. Not sure if these parts are still available, and if not, I need to rechrome a few.
I need to replace/rechrome:
1) exhaust heat shields
2) one handlebar riser
3) top transmission cover
4) front turn signal housings
Does anyone know where I can take these to have them done in the Northwest, if I can't buy new?
Also, I'd like to get a set of slip ons for it, if any know who still makes them for these let me know.
I got an FXR Customized 1988 Evo 1988 Tranny 2005 everything else. I go thru J&P Cycles, Dennis Kirk or Debrix (Debrix is slow to ship but prices are sometimes better) Also check Ebay. So far parts have been easy for me.
Jon,
All 4 items you listed are stock Harley parts. Everything but the heat shields are easily found in the aftermarket. Bama already mentioned a few good sources. I haven't seen the heat shields out there, so you may need to get them rechromed if they are bad.
Several companies still make the slip-ons. I have KromeWerks HP+ on my FXR2. Got em on Ebay for $75.
Jon, I've got a full set of shields for the stock pipes with the crossover shield as well. Very nice condition, no scuffing. Let me know if you'd like them and we'll work something out...
JohhnyD I just stumbled on a site that is closing out their Rush slip-ons for FXR's. Nice prices. You may want to ****** up a set while they still have them:
