I have a Trike in my workshop with a 91 Evo motor with Edelbrock heads and an Axtell 1480 stroker kit.
Anyone know the correct ign timing data? Its eaten the pistons, knocked big lumps off the ring lands and I am thinking this was a timing issue.
As the pistons travel further per degree of rotation I am thinking I will dial gauge the timing and re mark the crankshaft........unless any of you know different?
I had a JIMS stroker kit in my Glide during an earlier life, but I really don't recall what the correct timing is. However you could email Axtell and ask their advice?
Need to do some checking, Axtell doesn't offer cranks and kits are big bore with a 4 5/8's stroker being 107" and most likely an S&S is used. They offered the odd cubed Nikasil cylinder but big cubes with a 4 5/8's crank
Attached S&S crank identifying info and timing recommendations

If it is a stock bore then someone stuffed a 4 3/4 crank in there, very possible setup for torque with the trike setup, only chance is to view numbers through the timing hole.
Measure the piston travel and will give you stroke length, sounds like someone did some clearancing to stuff the crank in a stock case. Good Luck!

There are cutaways on the inlet side of the piston skirts, not really looked at the cases but from my research (which was a result of replies in this thread) the stroker cranks have timing marks on them.....but you are supposed to play about with the timing and run them at 30-32 degrees rather than 35.
It is true Axtell do not currently offer stroker kits for Evos, but they do for shovels, so may have done once for Evos. They do offer cylinder/piston sets for stroker Evos. As I stated previously I had a JIMS stroker crank in my motor (that was what my builder supplied and installed), so that is another possibility. An email to Axtell doesn't cost much, if there is a possibility it will help! Alternatively look into JIMS to see if they can supply answers.
Axtell site was very useful, as was the link in a previous post...I have the answers I seek now.....thats why I am a member of this excellent forum :-)
Did you ever complete that 6 gallon tank conversion?

Great stuff and glad we helped.
As for that tank it is like a stone round my neck! I'm close, fiddling about trying to get enough clearance for the top stabilizer. More news in my tank thread before too long!
