Been a while but I'm finally done upgrading the EVO. Went ahead and ported and polished the heads and had the EV27 cam installed.Got 80.5 HP and 89 tork. Might be a while before I do anything else to it. In the future I think I might put in a Mikuni 42 or 45 carb and a big sucker stage 2. For right now I'm pleased with the HP increase. Thanks for all the suggestions and help.

I can't imagine that. Wait til he posts back but he'd have needed the stage 1 first, or with it. That's the breather, carb jetting and exhaust to open things up.

Stock you are constricted already and just increasing the engine's capacity won't help until it can breath.

Most people tell me that you get your biggest first bang for the buck with that stage 1. I've done it and you can really feel it.

Hey guys new to the forum and have a question maybe some of you might can shed some light. I have a mostly stock 97 Heritage Classic. Vance and Hines longshots K&N air filter. Other than that all stock 1340 EVO. The bike runs great but lacks giddy up. Seems to be geared to low or something. Tachs up very quick and goes through all five gears real fast. Is this common to the bike or the EVO. Is it the pulley, the ignition, the tranny? Just got the bike this summer. Love it but wish it had a little more throw me back in my seat off the red light know what I mean?
Here's what works for me, so far
But I'm never happy with my bike,

Go with the 42 flatside Mikuni, the 45 is for bigger built motors than what you've got going on.

have fun
