Guys I gotta change out the ignition switch on my wifes 89 Heritage , its a 6 pole and is fastened down with 4 screws, what are my options for buying a new one and what year to what year will fit on her bike and work?
Problem with hers is you have to jiggle it to get contact and I don't need problems down the road with her bike running intermittedly as we're going down the road.
Thanks
It sounds exactly like mine. I tried 2 out of Drag Specialties and they lasted only 6 months each. I then went to the Dealer Ship and got one of theirs (it was made in Japan) and have had no problems since.
I would SECOND the recommendation for the electrical, non mechanical switch. Same screw holes, same connections, but without that metal bar you are currently rotating to make contact.
Don't know if your use Ebay or not. If so there is an electronic switch Item Number
200724030513 that will fit her bike. About as cheap as I have seen. Just open Ebay and enter the item number in the search box.
