same here. my buddy seems to think i'm gonna snap my drive belt in no time flat, so I'd like to see how its done (although i'll be honest, if it's putting down enough power to snap the drive belt, i'll probably just convert it to a chain)
I am ready. Just bought the new one which you advised and the gasket set with hardware. Are you changing seals also? Which ones? Any bearings? I would appreciate the guidance.

It will be good. I did this procedure and finished yesterday on my 1996 electra, plus I replaced both sprockets, all seals (including shifter shaft), but many times I watched Youtube and service manual to do it right way, especially - torque values to tight nuts of sprocket, shaft and compensator. But after all it was done and she has new Gates belt and other new good parts. But much better I prefer to watch description from the forum's guru with attached pics.
Now, after belt replacing I have new problem - starter don't engaged - when I press start button, hear relay cilcking, but nothing more. Had no more time yesterday to find good solution, but I suppose it will be something wrong with contacts or relay, because before primary opening everything with starter was o.k. Will continue my researches next weekend.
