Oh yeah, that's right - the compensator spring cup is known sometimes to weaken, so the rotor will start rocking on the splines, eventually falling apart. Happened to me, on '93 decker btw

This is the problem with rattling hollow metal units - sounds can come from anywhere. Few times I heard from big wrenches when they refuse even to use a mechanical stethoscope: "it's not gonna help here"

That sounds to me like the hiem joint mount is bad on the top of the motor.

may be a stupid question but what exactly is the heim joint mount on top of the motor? I don't think Ive ever heard that term before..

Thanks Jokenroll for ur input! I know its hard to hear on the video but in person u can definitely tell its coming from top of the motor.

Headsteady or top motor mount.
