I hear the Feds (latest Cycle World) are now considering California CAFE standards nationwide. That will be great if that happens A lot of aftermarket companies (auto/motorcycle) will really be hurting if that happens - not to mention consumers.

A carb may not be as fuel efficient or as dependable in most cases, but when they die you can always bring them back to life with little $$ and effort. That's why I like the EVO's, plus they sound way better than the newer models. IMO
I've taken my cv evos over the Rockies and through Yosemite and never had as much as a carb fart. I get 45 on the Custom and 55 on the Springer bone stock except pipes and intake. Not many TCs getting that, talked to a guy with a 2000 bagger and he's getting 28, man I could not deal with that.

Just can't stand the high idle on the TCs.

You can keep the EFI, not interested.

Evo Forever, not so sure about the Motor Co.
You probably still have a flip phone too?

its technology and advancing with the times.
You may still have an AOL.com email too?
The MOCO has to bring new technology into the showroom to be able to sell to the 20-30 year olds.
Those of us over 50 now have nipples on the hand controls to play with and that makes me very happy!
I'm tempted to get a new bike just for that!

Somebody tell the MOCO 20-30 yo don't have the scratch for a new Harley. Most can't afford a used Vespa.

You're absolutely right "Spanners39" ... Same in the "Classic Car World" ... all of the emission parts ( especially air pump and re-circulation hoses and tubes ) are starting to bring good money now that all the Auto Gear Heads are doing restorations ... Just remember that in the future ... These are the "Good Old Days" ... How much further into the future will we have to look in order to see the "Hydrogen Head Harley" ???????????

Its evolve or die time for Harley, one day all H-Ds will be watercooled, that isn't a bad thing, its just how it is. The USA has had its fun polluting the planet with a million V8's and now its payback time. They may even sell heaps more bikes now they are watercooled and have another renaissance. That can't be all bad. Remember, the V Rod is watercooled and they have survived the "cool" test...hell, even I respect V Rods and I think the last true Harley had a foot clutch!! :-)

I have a '99 Harley twin cam, the first year they were made. It has the same brakes my'96 did. It has M@M fuel injection. Runs good, easy to work on, And when I'm riding next to my friends riding '10's and '12's and a few '13's, the only thing they have over mine is monthly payments and a bike they can't work on. So I have a first year model bike, made in the last century, with all the stock parts on it. Even the air ride seat works like new. So is $10,000 to much to ask for a experienced classic?. No credit? bad credit? half assed credit?, I don't care. I can put you on this bike today!!!! All you need is a beer tab at a local bar, 2 people that don't have your last name as references, no convictions for mattress tag removal in the last 2 years, and the need to buy shiny stuff that you don't really need. If you meet all these requirement you will be qualified for my special easy payment plan. 100% down, NO Payments!!!! Call Today.,,,
