. You can't see it in video shaking too fast. Everything shakes from to back fender. The engine looks relatively still. At idle the engine shakes a lot like it should.

Ok, try this, pull your compensator assy and if its stock, check to see if there is a spacer behind the crankshaft extension (between it and the rotor) insert a 40 thou one if not. Then cut 1/4 inch off the tube nut that holds the comp assy on and torque to 75 ft/lbs + 45 degrees.

I found out some fascinating stuff about comp assy issues at the weekend....

What did you learn? Interested in hearing more

Behind my crankshaft is just the washer or spacer that goes between the extension and the rotor. I never measured it should have last time it was off. I'm thinking of pulling the whole assembly off again maybe tonight.

If the spacer exists it will be the right one...turns out that sometimes the tube nut bottoms out and the comp assy does not load the springs and this can cause knocking at idle and/or vibes.

That was the premise of my whole idea but I couldn't determine if I was bottoming. Doesn't seem like it but I do get the starter clunk kick back randomly

That is another symptom of the bottomed out nut...

. Maybe it's a combo of the comp and clutch hub. I'm thinking of stripping it down tonight. If I bolt the comp nut back on the only way to start it with the impact gun is going to be to tighten the but with it first. If I throw the gun in reverse will it kick the engine over or just pop the nut off? I was thinking of pulling one spark plug then putting it back in once I get one cylinder to fire but I don't think I would be able to get it back in once it's shaking and moving. Any ideas?

The single plug idea is not doable......if it takes less than 160 ft pounds to start the motor the rattle gun might work.
