Took the clutch plates out. It's not the rivets the clutch hub is rocking on the bearing there's play. I don't know how much play should be in that bearing it spins perfectly.
I tried starting it with a drill and with an impact gun, the impact just pops the nut off and the drill won't spin it. I put a socket and wrench on it and got it to sputter once but not enough to get it going. I was afraid of catching the ratchet in the head so I stopped eventually.
Spanners, mine has the 1/4 spacer between the head on the nut and the cover. I dry assembled it and the nut isn't bottoming. It does tighten on the shaft extension and not put sufficient tension on the sliding cam though. I think my spring pack is shot and maybe the extension needs to be shortened. It has zero spring tension when tight
Throttle. Here's another video I just took with the clutch plates removed if it's resting on the bench and I just lift up this is the play I have. I don't know if the bearing is shot or if the hub is. I'm assuming the bearing is shot. Will stop in a few places tomorrow, I'm concerned someone unfamiliar with how to press this in and out is going to destroy it in the process.
In the video it looks like the outer race of the bearing is loose in the hub. Have you ever noticed a "squealing " noise if you come off the clutch hard? If it has in fact spun , I have used a center punch and peened the hub to tighten the bearing. Of course this is not a permenant fix , but it will get you by until your winter hits.
IMO after seeing what the hub is doing I wouldn't focus to much on the comp.
Anyone want to tell me how to properly press the bearing out and press the new on in and back together. The manual is vague and I want to be able to explain it to the shop when I get there, I have a feeling try will have never seen a harley clutch hub
