I don't think they are bad but like everything else I have no faith in them being good. I guess if it is the crank I can't fix it cost would be way too much. I talked to a guy that has the same issue. He had his welded and balanced and it still does it. I'm at a loss I'm grasping at straws here. Anyone want to trade me $4500 cash for it? Take it before 5pm and I'll give it to you for $4000

I say ride it and don't stress out till something actually breaks or wears out.
Need some help guys if you're still with me? I pulled the trees today and the bearings didn't look good. The top one wouldn't spin until I hit I cleaned it up a little with carb cleaner. I can see lines in the races. I cleaned the top so it would soon and it's notchy. By the looks of the grease and how hard it was I don't think it's ever seen fresh grease or been adjusted.
So can the races be removed without a hd tool? My wheel bearing race tool doesn't seem to fit. How do I remove the bearing from the lower tree is that pressed on?
Also the steering lock had a piece of metal sticking straight out I pushed it lightly and it snapped off. I can't turn the lock at all it moves a mm or 2 then stops. Also is the lock groove on the steering stem in the right spot? Large gauges in it.
SON OF A BEECH!!! I didn't thing this would fix it, but ya never know until you try it. And I can't believe that bearing was bad! NEVER any indication it was bad, Or I would have put a new one in BEFORE I shipped it to ya man. SORRY, I didn't know. That's why I didn't even check it.
It has to be something in the crank then.

I used a brass or aluminum punch to drive the races out from the opposite side. The way I remove the lower bearing is to heat it with a torch

There's no way to get the bottom from the top there's a shoulder there. Will a blind hole puller work?
For grease on these is the green grease brand okay for these or should I get something different?
Are the races okay to be pounded in or do I need to make a press out of a bolt or something?
For what it's worth I think if I didn't pull it apart that small piece of metal would have fallen off and jammed the race or locked the bars while riding. Could have been the end of the road for the shake, the bike and me.
Rented a blind hole puller not sure if it's going to be big enough. Autozone had a kit with 2 l44643 bearings races and grease. Should I use this or use the greengrease brand grease? Or does it not even matter in the neck.
