Evo shake
There's no way to get the bottom from the top there's a shoulder there. Will a blind hole puller work?
For grease on these is the green grease brand okay for these or should I get something different?
Are the races okay to be pounded in or do I need to make a press out of a bolt or something?
For what it's worth I think if I didn't pull it apart that small piece of metal would have fallen off and jammed the race or locked the bars while riding. Could have been the end of the road for the shake, the bike and me.

Grabbed a 18" piece of threaded rod, .75", and a few nuts and washers and tightened until I was blue in the face. Since you live in the lovely Commonwealth then you'll only need to ride a few seconds until you find a pothole to test how well you installed the bearings and races.
Do you have a welder? If so then weld a bead around inside face of the race - once it cools down it contracts and pulls the race away from the side of the neck. It should then be a simple job of tapping them out.
If you cannot tap them out then weld a bridge (or even a nut) across the diameter of the race and use that as a focal point for a puller or lever system to pop the race out.
You can dremel them out, but you have to be very careful to not nick the fork stem too much.

I recommend the bearing kit from Sears our even the cheapo from Harbor Freight but what I did was..

You're right about potholes, I thought it was just this end of the state, the roads are terrible around here, they haven't cleaned up the sand from the winter either, haven't seen one street sweeper yet.
I don't have a welder, wish I did. I'll look into the sears and harbor freight. I've done the dremel method before, but it takes a while, i go slow so I don't damage anything. I did this with the IPB and it wasn't fun.
2 add condensation which causes rust
3 lack of grease in and around the bearing
can certainly add up to the marks being there.
kinda doubt those marks came from overtighting or impact

What's odd is they felt ok with everything bolted up. After I took the wheel and fork tubes out and moved the trees from side to side there was an awful screeching noise and it felt like it was binding. It was like a whole different feeling. Glad I pulled it apart.
Looking at the pics Yea Buddy It was a good thing you ck'd them.

Got the races out or the stem and put the new ones in. Need help with the inner race stuck on the stem now. I put a torch on it for awhile. It won't budge. The book says to just heat until it falls off. About how long should that be? I can't get it to budge at all
A propane torch probably won't get it hot enough, tried that I had to resort to above mentioned way.

Something like these, alittle on the big side but can be worn down to a good diameter to make good cut for ya
