Thank you sir! I am also the proud owner of an electra glide in blue.
I am just looking to replace the discs and spring plate. My local HD healer has a "kit" with an extra disc and heavy duty spring plate for $210.00. I have checked out the Barnett stuff on the usual retail sites and Barnett site itself, but I don't see that they offer a spring plate with out buying one of their Scorpion clutches. Maybe i'll call them and see what they say.
If your bike is close to stock you don't need a heavy duty spring. I have an S&S 107" in mine, with a Barnett HD spring. If they are still available you only need a stock spring, which will go well with a set of Barnett plates (which I also have!).
No experience with the SE clutch. I run Barnett plates and Rivera gold spring. Like GR said with the stock/mild 80" Barnett plates and a new OE spring will be enough to last a lot of miles.
Not even mentioned, but you never know what we might be thinking about "down the road". Of course, the pull will be heavier, but that may not be an issue. What I can tell you is that the stock HD hydraulic clutch will not lift an SE clutch. It will half-*** lift it and they may be making stronger units. I have not checked on them or considered one in years. Jokers and some other names make good hydraulic clutch systems, but the MOCO units I've had experience with....just won't properly lift the stronger clutches.

Pretty sure the OP's 97 Glide doesn't have a hydraulic clutch.
Probably not, but I've installed a few for people that had weak hand issues and they work fine on a stock clutch, but are problematic on a stronger clutch set-up. I have a friend that has a 97 bagger and he does have a hydraulic clutch, because I installed it.
