Default What Tuner???????

I have an 05 RK Classic. Screaming eagle stage one EFI kit. Air cleaner, and slip ons.I am looking at doing a dyno tune.I read so many different forums on the tuner's and am not sure which would be the best to buy, Screaming Eagle race tuner or the Power commander. I want to buy a tuner that will be able to handle a 95' or 103' kit later on.Thanks for any info.

Both Tuners will work for you, the Race Tune is the best tool for the job simply because it gives you the same options to do what the Harley Engineers do to build the ECM. I'd go with what ever my tuner was more comfortable working with.

DOC hit it on the head - decision should be based on what the tuner you're going to use likes. Even though the Race Tuner might seem better, you might find it nearly impossible to find someone to tune it (including the MoCo shops). For example, I got the RACE tuner before I realized the tuners in my area are solely Power Commander. Any case, I tried the local Moco shop - first they did not want to give my the map, second, after I compared the map to the Stage 1 map, I realized they did not know what they were doing. I ended up putting the Stage 1 map in it and tweeked it with some help from forum folks. Now that I'm doing a big bore and 26G cams, I'm looking at like four hours to travel to a good SERT tuner.

Power Commander is the way to go for a $260 fix, it is a lot more popular with tuners.

If you want to spend more, go for the Zippers Thundermax or the DTT system. They are closed-loop auto tuning systems that adjust to whatever changes you make to your bike. They run around $700-$800, but you never have to pay for a dyno tune.

Dynojet's website has a feature that let's you search your state for tuning centers. I agree with the other posts. Might save you some grief later on down the road by checking out what tuners are in your area and what they "specialize" in before spending your hard earned $$. Good Luck

Im running the PCIII from Fuelmoto, advanced map by jamie. I had a little dissatisfation on the start, but then after speaking to jamie and resetting the throttle position, Im very happy.
Today I ran 2up mixed driving. city...puttering around, and interstate at about 8o mph average. I got 40.5 mpg and at 80 mph 2up it still had plenty to go if id wanted. Temps here were at 90, but my bike averaged about 210 all day.
Do what makes YOU happy, but the PCIII worked for me.
Good luck
