I just recently purchased the 95" upgrade for my '03 TC88Roadking, jugs, pistons and SE 203 cams. I have since got my hands on a set of Screaming Eagle CNC ported heads with 2" intake and 1.623 exhaust valves. Can anyone tell me what to expect in the spring when I try it out after the refit?
it should be straight forward R&R job, I would not recomend thoses heads for a bagger, but if you want to try them I would get the compresion to 10.5 to 1, and change to a different cam. Try the Woods TW6 or HQ .575 cams or the R&R .525.
The compresion change will help the loss in port velocity that those heads will induce and the cams are to help to get more air in the bike to give you a broader torque cure and a tad more top end.
If you dont like that, then sell the heads and have your stock ones reworked by Big Boys or HQ or R&R.
I think you will be happier with a slightly smaller intake port on the bagger.
I agree with Mentor 100%. You have to toss the cam (203)and get your compression up with a cam to matchor it will fall flat on its face especially at lower rpms. Those heads do some nice # with the right cam and compression. The biggest draw back if have heard (no personal experance whith these heads my self) is the tune has to be spot on or have detonation and other mixture/timing problems.
