missing when hot
oky, was out last weekend bike tarted to miss and idle poorly,it see to miss anywhere under 2600 rpm, heavy load to full throttle run great. took tank off ,pull fairing looked for any wires or any thing else that might be shorting,, nothing! so went and pick up a coil and change it still the same. it looks like i'm headed to the dealer. thanks for your help and time
I believe it's in the heat sensor system somewhere, sounds like the module is telling the ECM the engine is too hot and it's going into cool down mode. Be sure and let us know what you find out.

I'm with John...sounds like the bike is sensing something incorrectly. Perhaps the bike RPM sensor is not right...bike thinks it's at IDLE, goes in to cool off mode...when you run it up past 2400? it recognized it's not at idle any longer and runs as it should. Do you have a manual? They have pretty good troubleshooting guides in them...might help you, not sure what you've done other than what's posted above.

Your best bet is to let the dealer hook up to it, they can check the parameters of the sensors with the digital tech and eliminate the guess work. When you get a problem like this, it's a guess at best in most cases, but a few wrong guesses can get pretty expensive untill you hit on the right part. Some times we have to bite the bullet and go to the stealer![:@]
Only three other things come to mind
1 Intake leak
2 Injector wire problem in the harness, https://www.hdforums.com/m_66257/tm.htm
3 02's had some bad breakers, but I don't think this will apply to your case.
You may want to check over the TPS switch with an ohm meter to see if there is any bad spots in it. It is on the side of the throttle body and has 3 wires on it. One is about 5 volts, one ground and one is the variable voltage that goes to the ecm. Locate the one that goes to the ecm and advance the throttle slowly (engine off) and see if the needle jumps in any areas indicating a bad spot.

well guy's , pickup bike from shop( i know it's their business to make money, but i try to get the bike in 4 weekago and they were busy, so i ask what was the most likely thing to look for? answer was "bring it in and let a tech look at it"). well tcstd was right an injector wire broke just past the connector. boy should have ohm every wire out : two connectors $3.75
labor $156.00

again guys thank for your time and knowledge

Glad your problem is solved but the dealer is even happier. Pick up a manual and you can trouble shoot a number of things without the dealer.
This particular problem can be isolated if you move the harness around right by the injector when it is running, it will cut out and stumble.

My buddy's '05 Heritage (about 5000 miles on it) just started doing this exact same thing. It's probably the same cause too because it's only the front cylinder that is missing. The dealer changed his temp sensor as well, also to no good effect. Thanks for the follow-up. I'll tell him to have them check the front injector/wiring...
This is something he can do himself for nothing. With the bike running, wiggle the injector harness wiring about an inch from the injector and see if it cuts out.
although the heritage is a rigid mount and it does not really apply to a rigid mount motor.
