Default Big Bore Question

I have an 02' Electraglide. My brother just purchased and 07' Streetglide and of before it left the dealer he had a 103" upgrade put on it. Questions is can I use the 96" jugs and pistons from an 07' on my 02' or have they changed that also. I know that there are a difference in the motors i.e. oil lines, oil pump, etc. Just wondering before I get all excited bout the c.u. upgrade for me and find that it won't work. Thanks ahead of time for your replies.

Bobby

His 96 jugs will not help you out at all. The 96 in '07 has same bore as your 88 incher. The 96 inch has a longer stroke.

No, you can get to 95 inches by installing cylinders and pistons that are bored out. (You can buy big bore cylinders or have your bored out.) If you want more than 95 inches, then you would need to put in the stroker kit. The 07's come from the factory with the stroker crankshaft and culinders that are the same diameter and the 88 inch models.

Thank you very much for enlightening me on this. I guess I will just have to get a big bore set up or have some machining work done to mine. Thanks againfor all of your help.

No problem. Check on ebay for take off stock cylinders that you could have bored. That could save you a few bucks over buying the kit from HD.

You can also get RevPerf 98" cylinders & pistons that bolt-on just like the HD 95" kit.

What kind of price tag is on the Rev kit?? Like most of us money isn't an object when it comes to my bike but I have found that HD tends to go over board with pricing sometimes.

Retail price for the 98" Nikasil coated cylinders, CP forged pistons, and gaskets is $999.

They are a HDForums site sponsor and periodically run specials. I just checked their site and they have some things on special for 10% off. http://www.revperf.com/twin.aspx

I'd call them and tell them you read about them on this site and ask if they have any X-Mas specials for forum members....
