2018 forty eight. Had it a few months I have he Harley esp.
today it wont start, no power. Battery is good and checked fuses the 10 amp bat fuse blown. Replace it it immediately blows so there is a short somewhere. Figure I have esp so Im not going to dig into it anymore.
Call the the number on my esp card. The place is closed. Says to leave message. That would suck if I was on the road. I hang up and call the dealer. The service dept is closed until Tuesday. I was told to call Tuesday morning. Ok I got it.
I dont want to get screwed on costs, an I supposed to just pay $50 deductible for the whole thing? They have to get the bike from my house as well. I asked the salesman at Harley today about rental he couldnt answer that. Am I supposed to get a free rental?
Would have to read the fine print on your contract. Mine back in 2011 didn't have a provision for loaners. I think there are different levels though, maybe some of the very top tier ones have that.
Sorry you are stranded, but I don't think there is an service plan out there that will get them to open the shop outside of regular business hours to work on a bike.
Are you a HOG member or AAA, those plans have 24 hour towing service if you were on the road and broke down. AAA is a set range, I think like 50 miles. Last I checked HOG takes you to the nearest dealer.
Does the fuse blow as soon as plugged in, or when you turn the ignition? I'd get a volt meter and measure resistance along the ignition path, between it and the frame. Could be just a bare wire touching the frame somewhere. Blowing as soon at you install it would lead me to believe it's between the battery and the switch. After turning it on would be, well after the switch.
If you find it, cover it with some electrical tape until Tuesday. If you can point out the problem to them right away they might be able to get you in and out quickly. If they have to troubleshoot, it might be a while.
Good luck though. I know it's a bite in the rear to have the bike down over a holiday with good weather.
Oh, and check the battery terminals themselves. Those things get loose and all kinds of weirdness happens.

Yeah your right esp is after 2nd year. It says 50 deductible though.
If im still under factory then is their no deductible?
no, while under factory warranty, there is no deductible. the esp runs concurrent with your factory warranty which means that for mechanical breakdowns, the factory warranty takes care of that. but the esp gives you towing, food/lodging, bike rental and tire and wheel (if applicable).
