with a lot of the talk on here about helmets and I am also in the search for a new one myself which I think I have it narrowed down to the Shoei RF-1200.
What do you all do with your old helmets? do you try and sell them?
if I like the Shoei I wont really have a need for the one I have now. just not sure if it was a good idea to sell helmets or not.
its never been planted in the asphalt but has been dropped off the bike once but just has some small scratches on it now.
If helmet shell has never been damaged, you can purchase new inner liners, chin straps, etc for the top brands of helmets. So when looking for a new helmet, you should also see what is available from the manufacturer to rebuild it.
I have heard that paramedics or firefighters can make use of them on training days.
Your choice to try and sell but really no-one should be looking to buy a used helmet - I think you know that.
I tried to give some old helmets to our county fire department (which services over a million people) and they said they don't train on motorcycle helmets.
I would never buy a used helmet, and I'm not going to pawn my trash off on someone else.

Huh, sounds odd. Do they never respond to MVA's involving motorcycles?
I donated a couple of used helmets to the local FD and they were glad to have them.
