Ain't tring to bust no ones chops here just wanted to know any one else thought the same way. Some people pay up to 35,000 for them cvo bikes when you buy a stocker and take the rest of the money and make it run and look better and make it how you want it. if you pay that much you are not going to change it much. so if you going to a ralley there might be ten just like it there! so is there some thing i'm missing or these guy's have more money than brains? sorry about the rant

Someone on a Jap cruiser that costs $9k new probably wonders the same thing about all of us who pay $18k-$22k for a stock Harley off the showroom floor.

It all depends on how bad you want a particular motorcycle...

highly unlikely to find 10 CVO's just like mine at a rally. I wouldnt buy a new one for sure, that 08 springer softail looks awesome tho... I'll do what I did with my 02 model wait a few years and then look for oneused.

Lost1 is right .. its how bad do you want _that_ particular bike ...

Think about the resale factor too. CVO = $35 K, will hold it's value. put $15K into a stock bike, and it isstill worth not much more than the stock price.

I don't know about that...an '06CVO Ultra with 30k miles was at my dealer in early spring and the guy who had it there wanted 28k (I know he paid $35k plus since there was a markup at that dealer, and this was not a trade in but a "on commision"). It sat there for months, for 28k I could have bought one with very little milage but considered too high.....no one would touch it. No idea what he finally sold it for but he dealer suspected he would take $25k and I would not have offered more then $22k plus he had to pay commision to the dealer.

I figure ifI sold my Deluxe right now I would potentially lose $6k and that is if I sold it with all the removable parts. Less if keep the parts (Bags, tour pak, etc) and sold them seperately.

If anything the depreciation was pretty much the same.

Buy what you like with in your price range.
Are you buying it because you like it and want to ride it, or as an investment.

Buy it to ride it.

you got me there, I'm not sure about that investment thing either... b/c I ride it like I stole it heh (c:

sure I'm still spending $$ on mine, but I got a fairly good deal onthe bike, I'vechanged the seat / bars / new luggage rack / sissy bar / I personally like the skull acc's so I've been replacing thos items derby cover / ingnition cover / gas cap etc etc ..

previous owner cracked the case and put in the go fast goodies..

The best modifications cannot be seen from the outside.

I couldn't afford one and they really don't fit my riding style, but if that's what a person wants, it doesn't matter one bit to me. They are pretty cool to look at.

What's your point other then trying to create problems?

Obviously if you did the math you would discover that the CVO price is less then if you were to put all the extras, paint, engine upgrade on yourself. Again, this is HD pricing. You could have a cheaper paint job and buy other parts.

They say CVO bikes are put together with more care then stockers. They have their own separate plant/CVO team that assemble these bikes.

I'll put my 30k CVO up against a 18k stock bike with 12k in aftermarket and I bet I'd get more in return at resale.

To each their own. I have both a Street Glide and a CVO Road King and the Road King BY FAR feels much better on the road and I get a ton of rubber necking and compliments.

Bash on.
