An engine guard can be changed and lowers could be added. SG and RG never came with them anyhow. Now if you want to add lowers, you have to buy the larger guard too. More money for HD.

On RG engine guards also serve as support for fairing mounting brackets in previous years when one changes guards at least mounting brackets have to be changed as well.

When did HD start making this "rear tripover (sic) protection" and "front tripover (sic) protection" setup? My Gawd! How ugly!
Is this the type of styling we expect on a high dollar Harley-Davidson?
Is this the destination that the MoCo is headed. Err.........(correction) has arrived.

[sarcasm] Makes me excited!!! [/sarcasm]

It must be advanced technology and engineering.
[sarcasm] So beautiful!!! [/sarcasm]

This style had been available for a while from 3rd parties. Doesn't click for me but I've seen plenty of pictures where people replace factory ones with this style, so apparently it has an appeal to some.

Those rubber slides became very popular from the SuperMoto bikes of the 90s. Not my thing either, but after hitting my knee a few times on the hard metal end of my OG front crash bar, I may have to reconsider. Lol

I can understand everybody's objection, but I'd consider them. They don't look too bad.

I have stuff like this on my Fat Boy.

It's barely even noticable since it color matches the frame. I mount my PowerVision to the front one.
That "Ugly" stuff saved my bike from being destoryed in a 50mph highside thanks to a sudden downpour, saved me from being injured. A year before that, the same crash bars saved my bike from black ice. I walked and rode away from slipping out on black ice with zero damage. Without them or with the standard highway bar, I would have had to replace the bar, and had to talk to insurance.

This stuff is functional. It saves bikes from being trashed and totaled due to learning stunt riding, and inclement weather and unexpected tip overs.

I don't get it, why are you in this thread if everything makes you so upset? Why are you looking for things to be offended by?
You're in Colorado right? THC is legal there. Grab a few bucks, take a visit to one of the shops, get some goodies, the go back home, sit down and CHILL the **** out because bud... you need it.
