I have a non DOT helmet and a DOT helmet, what are your experiances riding with the Non DOT approved helmets? Do you get pulled over, or is that usually a ticket after the fact?

I have been riding with a non for some years now with no problems but when I go out of state I wear the dot helmet , Louisiana is trying to pass the helmet law to where we dont have to wear any helmets , I cannot wait !

If they check and it is non DOT they can issue a ticket. You might as well wear a tupperwear bowl on your head if its a non DOT.

In Mass there is a helmet law. \\; However, the cops dont bother you with a non DOT helmet...  \\;

I never had a prolem with leo and ride with a non dot all the time. i was recently in an accident on a busy highway a suv swerved into my lane hit me then ran me over after falling off my bike i was wearing a non dot helmet and it protected my head with no problems or injury to my head the helmet didnt break and was in one piece.
