I have a SG, and some folks are bothered by the buffeting.. I am 6'2 somewhere between 210-220. I notice the wind, but I am used to it, coming from sport bikes... I think crosswinds can be a pain, but the buffeting off the windshield is not noticeable to me.. There is something going on, because if I light a cigarette at over 15 mph, it goes everywhere, so there is turbulence there behind the batwing... . But I guess I am enough of a brick that it does not bother me... I like the windshield on the Road Glide, it seems to do a good job, but I like the fairing on the EG, because it keeps the wind off my hands... Probably sounds weird, but that is why I have an SG.

I just bought a HD quick release for my FXD and I like it. Keeps road trash and bugs off and makes hiway driving more enjoyable.
You can take it off in a jiffy!

I have a Goldwing as well as an Ultra and there is definitely a difference between them. I have never been a fan of interstate riding, but I would rather go WAY out of my way rather than put the Wing on the superslab. Since getting the Ultra, it doesn't seem to be affected by the winds as much. I am still not a fan of interstates, but at least now I can ride on them without felling beat all around by the wind coming from cages and 18 wheelers. Taht being said, my wife will NOT let me get on interstate if she's on back.

I choose to ride with windshield because it stops the wind from beating on me; thus my arms and neck do not have to pull against the wind at speed. Yes, there is some buffeting when following cars , trucks, or semis.
