I posed this question last night to the GF, and her response was " that is my seat no one elses ". To her it is a very intimate thing sitting behind me and riding close. She than asked if it were okay for her to sit on someone elses bike and I had to admit NO. I hope this helps but that is her point of view. Donot allow anyone else but her on the back.
She did call the house and left the message on the machine. I was the first to get to it. I think my choice of vehicles was the issue. A bike is a very personal thing and I may have crossed a territorial line. 49 years old and still haven't figured out this woman thing.
LOL! If your wife felt so strongly about someone else riding behind you, she probably should have made that clear to you a long time ago. Honestly, after stirring the pot here just a bit , I personally do not think you did anything wrong. Obviously, you helped a friend out. Obviously some think you should have taken the truck. ::shrugs:: Judgment call. If your wife trusts you though, it should be a non issue. Still, there are boundaries within relationships and they're different for everyone. Maybe after picking up the call from the friend, it would have been a good idea to have called the wife and tell her what was going on and keep her in the loop, rather than after the fact.
Women are illogical? Weird? Irrational? Like guys aren't in their own way? Right. See helmet sticker below.
Let's see....the call was left on your machine and not directed to you, correct?. First off I would have called the wife about her problem and see if she could pick her up. If not, I would have said it was a nice day and will pick her up on the bike. If the wife objects then take the truck. Like others have said, I believe there is more to the story behind the scene. Maybe you once told the wife that you thought Nancy was attractive?. Or she told the wife that she thought you were attractive?. Or maybe you need a bigger pillion. I know when the GF is on my bike her ****** is up against my lower back. Would you want your wife picking up you best buddy and have his ***** on your wifes back
Man, this is a great thread! Good responses so far. Although I take exception with a few of them.
It's all about trust and respect. My wife trusts me and will until I give her reason not to. I respect her and don't get into situations that would cause her to question that trust.
But,

Sorry, the seat on my bike is MINE. Both of them. I'll let whomever I want ride either of them. My wife knows that if she wants to claim a seat as "hers", then she best be getting her own bike. Again, I don't give her a reason to get her panties in a bunch. And she's not really like that to begin with.
Sounds like par for the course to me. When I got my bike my wife looked at the 2-up seat then at me and said, "My a$$ better be the only one that touches that passenger seat".

Did you reply that, in that case, you had better be the only one that touches that a$$?

I guess I don't get it. My wife lets other female friends sit in the passenger seat of my mustang, even insists most times (sitting in the back sucks.) I am sure once I get a new seat she won't care who sits on it as long as she knows about it. (Either before or after as long as I let her know).
I would have a problem with my wife telling me something like that.
