Not excusing their failure to immediately respond to your correspondence, I have to say that what they eventually offered to do for you seems reasonable. Most companies won't just give you a blanket authorization to have something repaired for a price and by a business unknown to them. I seriously doubt if your auto or home insurance would do that either.
I have had good experiences with customer service at Corbin.
Mike is not trying to sell Corbin. I was told that he wants to find an investor so that he can spend more time with his family now. He is not offering a majority interest in the company. I understand that he is in his seventies and works there every day at the CA location.
Actually my insurance company does give me the choice of where I want to get my vehicles fixed.
I'm feelin' your pain, Bro. I've been riding Corbin seats for at least 250,000 miles. The last 2-4 years their customer service has gone to the crapper. I sent them at least 6-7 emails and couldn't even get them to return the dang thing. Several calls yielded little if any in results, so I've decided to go with C&C after all these years. I love their seats, but their customer service SUCKS! Good Luck....
Corbin still cannot seem to figure out how to get my seat back to me without asking me to help pay for more shipping. So much for the 10% savings during bike week at Daytona.
And still they leave me hanging by not calling with the final decision from the supposed higher-ups in CA.
I bought a Corbin ( my fourth ) and the notches did not match
my saddlebag guards.
I called them and talked to a sales person and he gave me a RA to
return it and he said they would make me a new saddle.
So I returned it along with pictures of it on my bike and measurements.
While waiting three weeks for the new one I Emailed them 4 times thru their WEB site "contact us" page and never received one reply. Phone calls always got me to a sales person never a tech or production person.
When I did get the saddle back it was the same one they just increased
the length of the slot and it still does not fit on one side ( not deep enough) and
they added a screw above the notch that was not on the original saddle.
I called again and got a salesman and he gave me his Email address and told
me to send pictures and explaination. He would get back to me the next day.
I sent pictures before and after and a description but l I never heard from
him. I am guessing it was a bogus Email address. This was on 4/23/09.
This is the 1st time I have ever had any issues with Corbin and they do make a darned good saddle. Not sure if they have too much business, just do not care about customer support
anymore or are under staffed. I told them it would be better not to have the "contact us" on their WEB site if they did not intend to answer, it would be better for them and the clients.
I bought my first Corbin 1n 1988 so I have been a loyal customer for a while.
I still like Corbin products and I think they are well designed and comfortable but
there is a problem with their customer support and communications. I would
guess they are very busy and are pushing production to it's limit. Possibly Mike
Corbin is not as involved as he used to be, not sure, just guessing.
I just ordered and got a Mustang Classic for it and I will see how it is in comparison.
But I will no doubt but a Corbin again, they are that good of a saddle.
