Look into a good mesh jacket....they are lighter than heavy leather, and give you the added comfort of the mesh letting a breeze in to cool you.
Mesh jackets are only good for ONE slide down the asphalt, but the road rash it saves you from, will bring a smile to your face when you replace it
Crashed on LA Highway 22 westbound between Covington and Ponchatoula, LA. I took the scenic route home that day to stay off of I-12 and have a slow, relaxing ride. My brother is an A&P, and he was told by his instructor that the Federal Aviation Regulations were written in blood. I only posted so that others might avoid a similar accident. I considered myself a fairly competent rider with around 60,000 miles under my belt, but I learned that you can never let down your guard.
I think it is impossible to NEVER let down your guard. The brain just can't continuously function at that heightened level without occasionally zoning out. I have a feeling we don't know how often it happens because we usually get through it OK.
Glad you noticed the common thread. Lot's of A*ss Holes that are perfect on this forum. Any ride you come home from is great. Glad you are still breathing and can tell your kin folks about the ride.
I had a close call the other day, cager with no brake lights. Luckily I had an escape route to the right and stayed up. But it was a wake up anyway. I had been getting to comfortable behind the bars lately.

Yeah, I guess you're right about that one. I was really relaxed and so into enjoying the ride. Like Indian Larry said, I was "in the flow". I was thinking that this is what it's really all about, and why people become so passionate about riding. I got slapped back to earth, but I am already counting the days til I can get back on the road, a sore but hopefully wiser lover of the freedoms we cherish.
So...who ****ed up here?...YOU for not paying attention to what is happning in front of you/YOU following too close/a combination of both?...not defending a dumb move by a cage in front of you but YOU are (mostly) in control of what happens in front of you...99% of the time the real danger comes from oncoming ,left ,right or rearward traffic...BTW..glad you are OK...

Hi again. Remember me? I see you're still going around pissing everyone off in the forum with your thoughtless, brash and insensitive comments. What up with you dude? At this point I'm starting to get the impression you're some under-age degenerate loser sitting in your mom's basement posting on this forum in your underwear. It's not a good image. As said before, there are members on this forum, some with thousands of posts to their names and have been here for years. Then you come along about a month ago and the only thing you have to say to members is negative. Some of your comments are flagarent and offensive and none of which I've read have had anything positive to say. Do you have no restraint over your actions whatsoever or have any feelings for who you may offend on this forum? If not, then you need to seek professional help because that would make you a sociopath. If that's not really who you and you're not intentionally trying to stir the pot of excrement, then I suggest if you want to remain a member here that you stop and think before you start typing the first thing that enters your head. Trust me on this, pissing people off and causing problems here will only get you banned.

That was very much uncalled for! How many limbs are on your family tree? BTW

+1. Most losers act just like this. Have nothing constructive to offer. Just belittle others to make their pathetic lives feel better.
