So I have a friend who went about a cheap mp3 player. Everyone else in our crew has an ipod and I told him to just get an ipod so we all give him our music from are music which would be easy. Of course he didnt and bought some off brand player. Is there a way I can transfer my music to him? I know there are a couple of good itunes guys in the touring forum.
Burn an mp3 disc from your Itunes collection on your computer. An mp3 disc is a data CD, not a music CD. Do not use Itunes to burn the CD. Just drag the mp3 files from your Itunes Music folder either into a burning program or directly onto the disc if your computer supports disc burning.
I'd be interested to know how you transfer mp3 files from Ipod to Ipod without making an mp3 disc. Itunes is a great program to make mp3 discs from provided they are all mp3 files.
You can do it with a removable hard drive or flash drive. Hook up the hard drive to your computer, next go to my computer, then look under programs, find itunes. Right click, choose copy. Next, go to my computer again and find the removable hard drive. Open it up, then right click and choose paste. That should place it on the hard drive. When you plug it into another computer, find it and copy-paste the entire file where you can find it. You will probably have to install itunes in the computer that the files are being transferred to. Once you do that, simply transfer the entire itunes folder you copied from the donor computer and it will populate itunes. That's how I am able to transfer my library from computer to computer....the issue is that itunes codes the MP3's differently so there hard to find normally.

That's a good point. I changed my preferences to import songs as mp3's, which is not the default. You can also convert a song to an mp3 within Itunes, but then you have 2
