I picked up a pair of Rocky Alpha Force Zipper Waterproof Duty Boot from Sheplers on clearance for 49 bucks... real comfortable riding, and walking. Great traction on the road when stopped. I figured heck for 49 bucks, give them a try. I am quite impressed.
I also have a pair of the HD Mens Reflex boot. I think its the reflex. These are Not for walking all day in like the Rockys. I don't like that the tongue on the HD boots don't go 2/3's way to top of boot. Allows a lot of air and water in. Which is great for the hot dry days.
If I had to vote, I would opt for the police, tactical type boot for general all around use.
i have redwing logger boots, buy them half a size bigger and get good insoles and they are very comfortable and perfect for riding.
i wouldn't get the waterproof insulated boots, your feet won't breath and they get very uncomfortable. these have a steel toe and with insoles and wool socks are good in any temp.
I love my HD Riddick boots. I wear them daily and walk quite a bit in them. use them as work boots too. very comfortable, zip up sides, zipper vents, and I like the toe protector. I will buy another pair when these die.
