Need Paint for 2003 FXSTDSE1 - Gold
HI, I'm new to the forum. I have some minor scratches on the gold portion of my bike and I wanted to get some anniversary gold to repair it. The dealer says it is not available. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Welcome,
This is not going to help but I will tell you the story I heard. The paint that was used for the 03's had some problems. HD does not have any paint that will match. If ypu check with a high end paint shop they might be able to match it up. I know several people with 03's that have a paint problem. You are not alone.

Paint prob on 03's was the early ones in 02. they were having a surface prep problem. Solved that. It was not the paint.

Check with a PPG paint supplier in your city. They can look up the color and tell you what base/clear to use. I believe HD's use PPG paint.

yep..I had a buddy who had to get custom paint on his 70 chevelle repaired....the shop used a hand held laser scanner type gun....they matched it up real good...good luck.

There are some paint shops (the really volume, good ones) that have chip matching. You take in a sample, they scan and come up w/the pigment blend.
