Basic Tool Kit
Just got back on a bike after a 6 year hiatus and do not remember the basic tools I carried on my last bike. I have a good idea, but knowing me I will carry too much. What tools do you think would be the bare minimum I will need to carry.....

I'm on bike # 7 I have will over 100,000+ riding miles. My best tool was a friend with a trailer. All my brake downs over the years were always flats.So now the only thing I have in my tool bag is a tire plug kit. a map and my lock. One day I will get my own trailer.

Harley has a multitool for about $40 that has a lot of tools for roadside emergencies -
All-in-One Folding Tool
This kit is the ideal traveling companion. Standard on the Ultra Classic® and Limited Electra Glide® model, this compact folding tool is equipped to perform the basic "on-the-road" service functions on most late-model Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. Large comfortable handle with a soft grip adds leverage, and holds the foldaway tools. Tool selection: Torx® bits - T27, T40; Hex Bits - 3/32, 1/4, 3/8; Screwdriver Bits - 32 Phillips, slotted; Open end wrenches (2) - 9/16, 1/2, 10mm. Kit includes nylon pouch with hook-and-loop closure and Bar & Shield logo.
I also carry a tire plug kit, zip ties, tire pressure guage, multi-bit screwdriver and a few other things. As much as I can pack into a Softail toolbox or 2.

I carry a small sized crescent wrench, a couple of different screwdrivers, set of needlenose pliers and a few common sized open end wrenches (1/2, 7/16, 3/8 and a 1/4) and that's it. If I can't fix it with that, it's not getting done on the road.
