Default Almost Pulled The Trigger On A 2011 Fat Boy Lo

Yesterday, I decided to go for a little ride on my 1200C. I found myself crusing by the local stealership, Buckeye Harley Davidson. I thought I would stop in just to see what they had on the floor. I spotted this vivid black Fat Boy Lo, love at first sight, just sitting in a corner all by itself. Of course, a sales guy came up behind me and said just have a seat on her. And you know I did, it felt like I was sitting on a cloud, heaven on earth. Then we started talking about my 08 1200C. I just happen to ask him what would they give me on a trade. He goes, make up your mind what you want on the floor and we will talk. I said well, maybe the bike I'm sitting on now. After a little paper work, that he filled out, without me asking him to do so. He asked me for the key to my bike, and said that he was going to have the service guys look it over. About 10 minutes later he came up to me and said the sales manager wanted to work out a deal with me. This is how it played out. They said that they were gonna give me 5700 on my bike, but I said, I still owe about 6700 on it. Came to find out, that I only owed about 6500. Anyways, he said, they would just put the difference on the Fat Boy Lo. Then, I said that might work but, I can't afford more than 300 a month. When I ask what kind of interest rate are we talking about. Of course he had to run my numbers through the system. well my credit rate came back in the low 700's. He said the lowest Harley is going right now on soft tails is 9.49 but he had to go 10.49 on mind cause my credit score was little short. I ask what kind of payments am I looking at. He said, if I put 10% down, about 1700 bucks, he would do 84 months at about 296 a month. Then it was almost closing time and I said let me sleep on it and run that by my ol lady. When I got home I told her about me almost buying a new Fat Boy Lo and she said, no way. I sat down at my computer and figured up 296X84 months would be almost 25K. So do you'll think they were trying to take me for a ride? Oh, by the way, he also said that I qualify for 21K on a new bike.

Ofcourse I wouldn't take that long to pay it off. I just have to much credit card dept right now. I don't see how they can ask for that kind of interest.

Of course they were trying to take you for a ride! Theyre gonna rape you on the trade in, and not deal a cent on the purchase. But hey we got you that payment you wanted. Course you gotta do 7 years with a crapy interest rate, but what the hell

That is high interest right now. I would check with a local bank before settling for those rates.

Depending on the mileage on your 08, that $5700 figure seems low. They will put it on the lot for 7, maybe 8 bills. The low 700's on your credit score is not all that bad so I might suggest you talk to a local credit union and see if they can do better.

Remember also that the 2012's will be coming out in probably late July so they are going to want to move what 011's they have left.

Plus I have about 2500 in chrome on my Sporty. I made up my mind, i'm keeping my Sporty till it's paid for and save for a big down payment in a year or two.

that's a horrible deal.
My CR was 17K out the door, and with no money down I'm paying 286 a month for 72 months. And that was with financing thru the Vic dealer
