KBFXDLI Just because you're a 'Big Kahuna' and over 21K posts doesn't make you any less of an asshat. Way to stir a pot that didn't need any and to troll for responses. I'd think you would know better. I don't know about you, but I work for every $6 I have and I'll speek up too if some one or some corp. tries to start gaming me and get their hands deeper into my pockets than they already are.

I can easily afford the payment...when did I say I couldn't? And I didn't go 48 or 60 Months like a lot of guys that wind up upside down.

well, unless my math is way off, sounds like you did a 36 month loan which is gonna give you higher payments, depending on the amount you financed. but just guessing $300 a month on payments, then you're looking at 3 payments plus payoff.
either keep mailing your checks in, or set it up to pay on the due date. unless by flexibility, you mean choosing to not honor your end of the deal and make the payment by a certain date?

no, i just find a way to make it work to my advantage. my first hd loan, i used to make payments through the website, then they started charging the fee. so i started using my banks billpay. it was free for me, and they received the payment on the date that i wanted, and because i didn't pay it through their website, no fee on their end either. next loan, financed elsewhere. problem solved.
They cannot force you to pay through their website, just use online banking through your bank and pay them when you want to. If they accept electronic payment, your bank will send it that way, if they don't your bank will automatically send a paper check. Either way, you don't even have to pay for the stamp.
I would also imagine that nothing in the loan agreement states how the payment is made, so them changing their rules on paying through their website probably does not go against anything that was signed or agreed on. Most loans just say they need payment receive by x date each month.
I financed through HD, have always paid through my banks online bill payment and never had a problem. Also have not heard anything from them about changing any payment terms, of course I've never used THEIR website to pay a bill.
Well I think a little revollt is in order here, Harley Davidson Financial Services Just changed it's rules. I owe about a grand on my 09 FXD and have always made my payments via my Bank account at no charge. Now you are required to pay through the HDFS website, unless I sign up for Direct Scheduled Payments (no service fee) through the HDFS site, there will be a 6 dollar charge made when I pay through them. A I am on a fixed Income and prefer a bit of flexibility on my payment schedule. So it looks like I'll just go back to writing a paper check at my convenience. Which is more Labor and time for the Bank... I just don't get it. Has Greed just taken over. Your thoughts??
A seven page thread, because you could not understand an email??????
You are not required to pay through the HDFS website. The $6.00 service charge is a fee for one time payments done on the HDFS website. If you don't use the website, no fees.

Yeah That. That's nothing new. Set up for automatic payments, use your bank's bill pay system, or mail a check. What's so difficult here?
Also, for the OP, the borrower is slave to the lender. Get used to it, or save some money next time before buying. I can't believe anyone with a shred of pride is willing to borrow money then complain about their master's rules.
If you can't afford to make the payments you can't afford the bike....just because YOU are on a fixed income doesn't mean the world is going to kiss your butt and do things for free.
The man describes something and you become a DICK REALLY.
You know, I'm a lawyer for a living and make another few thousand a year from the Army reserve and I have an undergraduate degree in accounting - but when I read you guys talking about any financial issue, all I can think is "wow, those Harley riders must have a LOT of money...and they're really old and tight with a dollar."

Another poster who hasn't seen the new terms.... you can no longer use your banks Billpay system... as of Feb 9th, if you pay on line you are "REQUIRED" t use the HDFS Websiteand, set a specific regular debit payment date or pay the fee. And, anyone with half a Brain that Borrows Money or seeks a Credit Card will shop around for the best terms, it's called doing business. Credit is a necessary evil in these times, so in my mind if your going to have it, get the best terms you can. Did you just take the first Mortgage offered to you, or did you shop it out? Did you apply for a 12.9% Chase Card or the 7.9% Simmons card.... Oh, I have the 7.9% Simmons Card... I guess I'm a Brainless Cheap Dick.
It astounds me how many folks accept terms and believe they are helpless
Never understood why anyone would use HDFS in the 1st place...just for fun, back in 09, I had dealer submit request (even thought I alreayd had CU approval). They came back w/16% loan rate...my CU is 2.99%. Even with excellent credit score - they are #1 rip-off of vehicle financing...
