And, yes, I figured it was mainly for protection, as I said in my post. Why do you think I don't get it? You missed that as well as my sarcasm about the guys wearing them all over the place when they're not riding. I personally think they look a little ridiculous. Wait, let me think, maybe they just don't have a place to put them? Yup, that's it, won't tuck anywhere on the bike or maybe it's just that their bags are full to the brim. In any event, thanks for everyone's input, maybe I myself should give a little more attention to safety gear.
OK, I got all 3 of your posts cut/pasted here. I'm very well versed in both comprehension and sarcasm. I'm reading through all of them right now trying to figure out where I've failed to comprehend and failed to recognize sarcasm. As well as the other 70-some people who all apparently missed it as well. Maybe you can read along at home and help out. First post is only about riding but does mention helmetless. I took helmetless to mean riding without a helmet. Guys riding without a helmet while at the same time wearing gloves. Was helmetless supposed to mean they were not riding at all? If so you should have said something like, "when not riding" instead of saying helmetless. Lots of people ride without helmets, hence helmetless would refer to riding. Nobody ever wears a helmet when not riding (maybe you should?) so there would be no reason to mention a helmet if the subject is not riding. Are you having trouble articulating?

Or maybe your first three sentences were not about riding at all? This is a forum about riding so your audience will assume you are talking about riding. Your 4th sentance talks about the "soul of my bike when I ride", which (no matter how stupid sounding) reinforces that we are talking about riding. Again challenged with articulation?

2nd post you said something about beer bottles and jukeboxes. It was kinda out of nowhere. Not sure anybody knew what to do with the info since you didn't explain it. So we were supposed to assume you were now wondering about people wearing gloves while not riding? You could have actually posed the question about people wearing gloves while not riding to help us change gears and know you were completely changing course from the original thread question. It isn't till this last (3rd) post that you actually mention anything about not riding. Articulation.

Also in the 2nd post you say you are sticking to a theory about image that you never actually shared with us. If there is to be a theory discussed then you must ARTICULATE the theory. We have yet to hear anything about a theory other than that you are sticking to it.

Why don't I think you get it? Because in the second post you said you would "stick to my theory about image for most guys". If you are sticking to a theory then that means that nothing that has been said changed your mind. Which means there was no reason for 54 people to have posted. Which means you disagree with the opinions of 54 fellow riders and fellow forum members. Which means you don't get it. OR that NONE of us get it, which would be YOUR failure. Again, articulation.

At this point it seems that you have failed to articulate your thoughts from the very beginning of this thread straight to the end. Since you are not able to admit fault you have decided to accuse me of being challenged in comprehension and sarcasm.

If you want to know why guys wear gloves, in warm weather, while not riding, then I suggest you start such a thread, and ARTICULATE yourself in such a way that the audience knows you want to know about guys wearing gloves, in warm weather, while NOT RIDING.

So to conclude I have not failed to comprehend or detect sarcasm. Instead, YOU have failed to articulate. Look it up. You also owe all of us an apology for wasting our time and making us answer questions that you likely were never actually asking.

When you go down, whats the bodys first reaction? Welp its to put your hands out and break the fall. Thats gonna hurt real bad without a pair of gloves, any gloves. Thats why i wear a pair. That and to relieve the fatigue or numbness in my right hand with Gel insert.

Well done. I was wondering the same things as you, but was too lazy to post. If it makes the OP feel any better I don't wear my gloves when off the bike. Which wasn't the original question.

I wear QWI Nerve protector gloves to keep my hands from tingling severely. Perforated back in really hot weather, solid leather in medium and insulated winter for anything below 30 degrees. Comfort, sunburn, protection.

the website says msrp 29.95, but i have gotten them from my local metric shop for 24.95 (unless they've gone up). those gloves work pretty well, but don't seem to last as long as the hd perforated gloves so it was kind of a wash in the cost department.

25 bucks for one year for the river road, or 55 bucks for 2 years on the hd.....
keep in mind, this is la, i wear the 'summer' gloves for 8 months out of the year....

DewMe, Still don't see how the OP was confusing. There were a lot of good posts, several followed my logic. After re-reading my second post, however, totally my bad! Wasn't worded the way it should have been, so you slamming me was justified. My apologies.
