Speaking of flag code, I often see people with POW and American flags mounted incorrectly on their bikes. The American flag goes on the MARCHING Right, which means your right when you are riding. If more than 2 flags are displayed, The American flag is to be in the center and HIGHER than the other flags.
But watch out for the grammar police here. There are no Flag Police.
There are grammar police. The grammar police also seem to be wrong. If "Flag Police" refers to an agency, instead of its officers, then "is" looks like the right word.

Probably because it is a federal law. Title 4 of the United States Code, right there alongside Title 10 (Armed Forces), Title 18 (Crime & Criminal Procedure), etc. It doesn't have penalties, but it definitely is a federal law.

Umm no it isn't. You haven't read all the posts.
"While wearing the colors may be in poor taste and offensive to many, it is
important to remember that the Flag Code is intended as a guide to be followed on
a purely voluntary basis to insure proper respect for the flag. It is, at least,
questionable whether statutes placing civil or criminal penalties on the wearing of
clothing bearing or resembling a flag could be constitutionally enforced in light of
Supreme Court decisions in the area of flag desecration.51"

Really? Most of the people that have these flags on their bikes are either members of the Patriot Guard or American Legion Riders or other such organizations. Believe me, we already know what the proper position is for the flags and make sure that they are where they are supposed to be during missions. I haven't seen any on the road that were diplayed improperly however It would not surprise me nor would it offend me since there are many patriotic people that don't even know there is a flag code. I'm just happy to see people showing their patriotism.

The U.S. Flag Code frowns on the use of the flag "for advertising purposes." It goes on to warn against the sale or display of any "article of merchandise ... upon which shall have been printed, painted, attached, or otherwise placed a representation of" the flag to "advertise, call attention to, decorate, mark, or distinguish the article or substance on which so placed." In other words, when you wear a flag T-shirt or hat while reclining on an American flag beach towel near your American flag camping chair, you are violating the Flag Code. The code, which was drawn up at the first National Flag Conference in Washington in 1923, is part of the law of the land. But it is not enforced, nor is it enforceable. It is merely a set of guidelines, letting Americans know what to do and what not to do with our red, white and blue national emblem. There is no Flag Police. You will not be arrested for wearing a flag-embossed T-shirt on Independence Day or any other day of the year.
I doubt that most of us are doing so. Note the specifics of the code: "to "advertise, call attention to, decorate, mark, or distinguish the article or substance on which so placed."" Another words if it is done to advertise a specific brand of T-shirt or towel or such then it would be against the flag code. If I put a flag on my bike with the purpose of drawing attention to my bike itself then it would be against it. If on the other hand I have a t-shirt with the flag printed on it for patriotic reasons having nothing to do with the shirt it is printed on or the bike it is placed on then it is not against the code. I have 2 small flags on mine all of the time and a 3x5 flag on it for PGR missions (Displayed between the others in the center since it is the larger one) to display my patriotism which has nothing to do with calling attention to, advertising, marking, or distinguishing the bike itself.
