Default Question on bike widths...

I have a strange question and can not seem to find specs. I have a friend that is looking for a bike and she doesn't want a Sportster and she is also very short. She can sit flat footed on the Slim, but her problem is wrapping her legs around the engine, air cleaner, etc. to get to the forward controls. Its like sitting on a short fat horse she says! She can reach the controls, but it is uncomfortable to get to them for her. So, she is looking for a low seat and skinny bike. Any ideas?? Has anyone else ran into something like this?? I ride a Sportster so haven't had this issue.

Thanks!

I sat on my friend's Dyna Switchback and immediately told her the air cleaner was in the way for me and the bike felt wider than either my Heritage or Street Glide. She said she felt the same way and is shorter than me by about 2 inches. I guess she's gotten used to it.

Never thought of putting mids on it. That sure seems like a great idea!

Tell her to go to a dealership and sit on some, until she finds one that fits and is comfortable for her.

My 09 Dyna Low Rider has mid pegs and controls in addition to highway pegs. I imagine it would be a pretty comfortable bike for her. Mustang seat with backrest and mini apes to better position the bars and it's a nice setup for riding.

We did swing by the dealer and checked some out. You are right though. She needs to find one that she likes and maybe throw some mids on it.

I ride with two very short guys. They have purchased seats that are slim in the thigh section and ride with no problems. One of the guys is an HD mechanic, he rides every bike he repairs too!

A stage 1 kit will get the air cleaner a little closer in when they remove the plastic backing plate, and whatever bike she gets, she's gonna want the stage kit anyway.
