Looking to get some new speakers on the street glide. I got the factory ones that suck. Not really looking to add an amp or put speakers into the bags, just new ones up front. So what are my fellow riders using for aftermarket speakers?
I've been wanting to do a similar upgrade to my Ultra. The service manager at my local dealer told me he didn't think is was worth the money to just put in speakers. He said there was not enough of a difference without a new amp to justify the $300-$400.
But, a few weeks ago I ran into a guy on a Street Glide that had the Boom Audio fairing speakers installed with no amp or change to the head unit. I thought it sounded great. It seemed louder and deeper than my stock Ultra speakers. For this reason I am again thinking about the Boom Audio front and rear speakers for my Ultra.
If you are looking to do just speakers, you need a set of these!!
I have these for sale in the classified section. They retail for over $1k, but I am only asking $275!!!
Here, have a look.................
Vote number 2 for the Boom speakers. Yes, there are better ones out there, but to really leverage those you need to get an amp put in. My new bike came with Boom's and they aren't bad...and a definite step up over factory.
I am not planning on upgrading them as I guess I am not that much of a sound freak where I want to drop the money into upgrading the amp and speakers when these seem to be pretty decent in terms of sound. Lord knows I dropped enough into getting a D&D system put on already!!!
I run the Titan II 6.5" speakers that are an upgrade for the Biketronics system. I just recently put them in and currently only run them with a Sony head unit, and I'm very happy with them. I am adding a PBR300x2 amp though, to give me a little bit cleaner sound with higher volume, mainly for highway speeds.
It's hard to compare though since I haven't really heard what your stock speakers sound like.

Just did what you are asking about. Went with Focal 165 CVX Speakers. Sounded way better than stock. Then I added a Rockford fosgate pbr 300x2 amp. Wow! Awesome clear sound. Totally rocks. Speakers on amazon were 154.00 shipped and amp was 145.00 shipped. Adapter cones from local car audio store. 35.00. Best upgrade for 350.00
