stress cracks on Klock Werks 19.5 inch Road King windshield
I bought and installed the windshield about 4 years ago. In the picture you can see small "stress" cracks developing. I sent KW a note with pics, not expecting any compensation, just hoping the engineers can take a look. I'm now looking for a replacement and am looking at LRS windshields. Who has a long ride windshield for 4+ years and what are your thoughts? FWIW I installed the windshield at the recommended bracket torque of 20-25 inch lbs.
I was talking to a couple guys today. Both like the how they work. One has had 2 crack. I was thinking about trying one for riding in the rain. But not sure now.
My Memphis Shades windshields have done the same thing but only in the area that's tinted. This is the third MS windshield that has done it. I've had it for over three years and the whole lower portion is crazed. I think it has something to do with whatever they use to tint the lower half that causes the crazing . The first two they graciously replaced. I haven't bothered them about the third. It is what it is.

Mine has done the same thing. I wanted to buy a replacement only to find that Memphis Shades no longer makes their signature product- the half tinted shield. I suspect the high failure rate is the reason but when I asked them they wouldnt answer, only that the half tinted shields are discontinued.
I still want that look but I have no idea how Ill get it with a replacement clear shield. Candy blue paint? Window tint film?
