2012 fat boy lo
battery is fully charged won't start turns over two times then just clicks .
It has been sitting for two years battery is on trickle charge the whole time
How old is the battery? You said it has been sitting 2 years on a trickle charger but need to know the age of the battery
1. Remove battery.
2. Get removed battery load tested.
3. Note the Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) from load test.
4. Report Back the findings.
5. Trickle Charger will ruin a battery if left on, you should use a battery maintainer. A trickle charger will continiously supply voltage whereas a maintainer will monitor and supply charging only when needed
6. You can have voltage but not the amperage (CCA) to crank the bike over.
NOTE:
The above information, while credible, is worth what you paid for it and should not be considered gospel.
Do due diligence, research and have a H-D Field Service Manual before working on your bike.
You will probably have many opinions and suggestions presented; make sure you research the person providing the helpful information as there are some who provide good information that is useful and some who speak out of other orifices with gibberish. You will figure out this quickly.
If it hasn't ran in 2 years probably battery. To make yourself more confident about buying one, try jumping with a jump pack, if it starts battery. try putting on charger on high for 10 minutes and see if you get a few more clicks.
